Strong communication between the two services allows the team to determine the optimal course ofaction and combine the benefits of both a medical and surgical approach to the management of a case. A significant part of the work in the internal medicine and oncology service is to diagnose and treat various types of cancers. Several cancers can benefit from chemotherapy. An experienced team of nurses assist in the administration of chemotherapy to patients. Providing support to pet owners throughout the treatment of their pet’s cancer is a priority as we understand that this can be a worrying and challenging time for families affected.
Many conditions and diseases seen in patients attending the internal medicine and oncology service are chronic and require attentive follow-up. For that purpose, we realise the importance of working in close collaboration with you.
The team strive to provide prompt and complete communication with you. Depending on the circumstances, the follow-up will be undertaken at Pride Veterinary Referrals or at the client’s primary veterinary practice. In the latter situation, the team will be happy to help if any questions or concerns arise during the follow-up process.
