Management

Natasha Demir (Managing Director)
Natasha has responsibility for setting and delivering the strategic direction for the Scarsdale Group, working closely with the clinical and non-clinical teams across all areas of the company.

Mark Evans (Referrals Director)
Mark oversees the referrals hospital at Pride Veterinary Referrals who form part of the wider referrals division. He supports the team on strategic and operational management and business development.

Alice Caborn (Referral Operations Manager)
Alice supports the day-to-day delivery of the strategy for referrals, with a particular focus on referring vet engagement and overall service levels, ensuring we provide the most professional and caring service possible.

Jane Heeley (Referrals Operation Manager)
Jane works alongside Alice, Referrals Operation Manager, in delivering the strategy for referrals. She supports our clinicians, nurses, and support teams in their day-to-day management of the patient journey.

Hospital Nursing Team

All our clinical teams are supported by fully qualified and experienced Veterinary Nurses. Many of our nurses have taken advanced training and often additional qualifications in their area of work. Our nurses work not only within one service (such as Internal Medicine, Surgery and Neurology), but we also have a team of Rotating Nurses.

The Anaesthesia and Analgesia team at Pride Veterinary Referrals are responsible for the sedation, anaesthesia and recovery of all patients admitted to the hospital. They are present at every procedure, and ensure that patient post-operative pain is managed correctly whilst in the hospital. The team are involved with all services at Pride Veterinary Referrals, from major surgeries, to sedation for medical investigations and diagnostic imaging.

They wear orange in the hospital so that should there be a patient emergency, they can be clearly seen amongst the staff, and their office is based next to the main prep area so that they can oversee everything.

Dermatology

Our Dermatology service sees skin and ear patients, often as outpatients. Because many dermatology patients need long-term management and support, Rocío will often regularly see her patients and build up a good relationship with both pet and pet owner. Most dermatology patients will require medication, and regular monitoring of their condition.

At Pride Veterinary Referrals, our Imaging Team consists of not only Diagnostic Imagers, who interpret the images that are taken on the machines, but also a team of radiographers that use the machines to take the images. These are all qualified radiographers, having completed their degree and worked within a human hospital before moving into the veterinary industry.

The Diagnostic Imagers have to find minute details within the images, often working alongside colleagues from other services in order to make the correct diagnosis. They can often be found in an office upstairs away from the hustle and bustle of the hospital. This gives them a better environment for concentration.

Exotics

Sara works alongside a number of services to ensure that exotics patients receive the best surgical and medical care. Supported by a dedicated team of clinicians and nurses, she can see all types of pet that is classed as ‘exotic’. This also include rabbits, where there are particular conditions that require specialist care.

Sara is the only double Diplomate working in the UK (with both American and European specialist credentials), and she has recently gained Gold Status for Rabbit Friendly Practice, meaning that we are one of only around 20 with this accreditation in the UK.

Feline Medicine

We have a number of nurses that have taken training in feline care, with the service being overseen by Charlotte Dye. Charlotte has a Diploma in Feline Medicine and so has ensured that all our cat facilities are suitable for cats, and help to keep cats calm in what is a stressful situation for many of them. She was instrumental in gaining our Gold Status for being a Cat Friendly Practice.

The Internal Medicine team look after most non-surgery patients. They often use ultrasound and endoscopes in order to diagnose medical conditions.

The team will often see patients with long-term medical conditions and get the chance to build a good relationship with clients they see regularly.

The Neurology team look after all patients with spinal and brain related conditions and injuries. They deal with both medically managed and surgical patients, and we have a rehabilitation team to help with ongoing recovery.

Oncology

Our Oncology team look after a number of cancerous conditions using both surgical and medical interventions as treatment. We have a chemotherapy suite at Pride Veterinary Referrals to treat cancer patients, with an oncology wards area manned by dedicated oncology nurses.

The surgery team see all types of surgical cases; orthopaedic, soft tissue (organs or wounds), and spinal. As well as offering traditional surgery, they also offer some minimally invasive procedures (keyhole surgery) supported by a team of surgical and theatre nurses who aid with surgery, and support patients during recovery.
