We offer a full medical and surgical care of all exotic pet species
Exotic animals should be taken to a veterinarian dedicated to exotics not only when they are sick, but in order to receive preventive care. This can prevent disease, as well as treat the disease when it is already present. You should also bear in mind that a lot of exotic animals only show signs of disease when the the disease is already in an advanced state.
At Pride Veterinary Centre we see all kinds of exotic animals: small mammals (ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, rats, hamsters and other small rodents, mini pigs, etc.), birds (parrots, canaries, birds of prey, turacos, poultry, anatids, etc.), reptiles (turtles, tortoises, iguanas, bearded dragons, other small lizards, snakes, etc.), amphibian and fish. We also work with less common animals like meerkats, kinkajous, racoons, monkeys, skunk, and big cats.
We offer an exotic veterinary referral service 365 days of the year. We work with vets and for vets, as an extension of their first-opinion service, when they feel that a specialist opinion would be in the best interest of the pet. By sending a pet to Pride Veterinary Centre you are providing to your client the best exotic expertise and care available. We will work with you to provide the most appropriate options that complement treatment already undertaken. Communication is key and we will keep you updated every step of the way.
The Pride Veterinary Centre Exotic Referral is headed by Dr. Sara Dias, European Veterinary Specialist in Zoological Medicine (Small mammal) and American Specialist in Exotic Companion Mammals. Dr. Sara Dias is the only double diplomate in exotic pet medicine working in the UK.
Within our hospital, we have a specific ward for exotics with all the gold standard and more advanced equipment necessary to accommodate more critical and complicated cases (medical and surgical). We also have an in-house laboratory and the most advanced diagnostic imaging (digital radiographs, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT and MRI) in order to diagnose and treat exotic patients as fast and accurately as possible.
